What services do you offer?
RVA Hidden History Storytellers primarily offers outdoor walking history tours of downtown Richmond, focusing on the offbeat and overshadowed parts of Richmond's past. We also offer special events such as history dinners and brewery tours. You can find the latest information on our current offerings on our Facebook page, or purchase tickets here.
Do you offer private tours?
- Yes! Private walking tours start at $150 for up to four guests. Additional guests start are $20 per person. These rates cover our traditional walking tours, including Uncivil Wards, Rails & Sails, and Richmond's Revolutionary Spirit.
- Private Brewery Tours are also available for up to 15 guests. These tours are custom tailored upon request to best accommodate our guests' needs and the availability of our brewery and restaurant partners so pricing can vary.
- Please check our Group/Private Tours and Events page for additional offerings and details. All private events are subject to availability, and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage those interested in our services to contact us early so that we can lock in your engagement on our calendar. Our contact information can be found here. All reservations are subject to a deposit of $150 which is non-refundable within 7 days of the tour or event, except in cases where RVA Hidden History Storytellers needs to cancel for severe weather. Our rain/severe weather policy can be found below.
Are your tours family friendly?
We consider our tours to be family friendly, however we always suggest that parents and guardians use discretion when determining if a tour will be appropriate for their children. Tour material is based on historic fact, and history can be messy sometimes. It is not our goal to make people uncomfortable, but we will not sugar-coat the facts either. If you have questions or concerns about the material that will be shared on any given tour, please contact us. You can find our contact information here.
Do you allow dogs on the tour?
For our outdoor walking tours, yes! We welcome dogs, as long as they are leashed, curbed, and kept under control. Should your dog become a distraction during the tour, we do ask that you step away from the group to allow others to enjoy the tour. For tours and events that enter our partner facilities, including museums, restaurants and breweries, only certified service animals are allowed.
What's your rain policy?
Our tours run rain or shine, except in cases of extreme weather as determined at the sole discretion of RVA Hidden History Storytellers management. In the rare event that RVA Hidden History Storytellers must cancel a tour, we will call you and give you the option of a full refund or rescheduling. Full refunds will not be offered unless RVA Hidden History Storytellers cancels the tour.
What is RVA Hidden History Storytellers's cancellation policy?
- All public tour tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable within 24 hours of the scheduled tour time.
- With a minimum of 24 hours notice, tickets may be transferred to another tour one time without penalty.
- With a minimum of 24 hours notice tickets may be traded for a digital gift card worth the full value of the reservation, or cancelled for a partial monetary refund. A 25% surcharge will be withheld from all ticket refund requests. Any merchandise purchases will be refunded in full.
